Battersea Reach

The Challenge

Battersea Reach is an extensive new build development of luxury apartments, which overlooks the River Thames in Wandsworth. The 14 storey building required balconies and terraces on every floor and other architectural steelwork including, stair balustrade, plant room screens, and cycle cages. Installation of all these items would be required without scaffolding.

The Solution

A tight build programme and the need to work alongside other specialist contractors meant that each phase of the work had to be planned in exact detail. Barretts of Aspley(BoA) coordinated with the installation of the pre-formed balcony bases and created balustrade to suit first fix brackets as part of this initial process.

With plans, drawings and schedules in place, production of the balconies, balustrades and other architectural steelwork could begin.

The installation process was entirely without scaffolding. Leading edge running lines and restraint lines with harnesses were used throughout this aspect of the project.

The finish and quality of the work provided by BoA is considered a huge success by all involved. A particular success is the glass balustrade feature of the penthouse staircase. The project was delivered to timescales and budgets and without complication despite the challenging installation conditions.
